The Philippines' high consumption of plastic can be explained by two factors: poverty and poor waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">It is often cheap to buy toothpaste, shampoo and even food in small disposable containers that the companies happily produce and distribute. However, waste management cannot keep up with the increasing consumption of disposable plastic.
